Pot Grown Trees -

Grown in Angus. These trees have been grown in the pot - not just dug up and pushed into a pot ready for Christmas - so the survival rate for such trees subsequently planted in the gaden is excellent - as long as they have not been kept inside a warm house for too long and as long as they have been kept watered

Planters & Baskets

We have a great selection of containers and baskets planted with hardy plants guaranteed to brighten any garden or doorway from Christmas right through until summer - or longer!

You can choose from the selection on show or pick a planter - terracotta, ceramic, wooden, plastic, stone effect or novelty (a duck, pig, elephant, shoe, handbag....!.) and ask us to plant it for you. We have such a range of planting material that prices can be tailored to your budget.

Our planters range from a simple bowl or basket of hardy Violas or Primroses to a large ceramic or wooden container planted with an interesting selection of evergreen shrubs - perhaps with a touch of colour from some hardy bedding, and a selection of bulbs to give a colourful suprise in the spring!

Alpine planters top-dressed with gravel or slate are also popular and we have a good selection of grasses which can give colour, height, form and movement to any container.

Herb planters are a popular gift item - Frog planters with parsley, novelty 'herb' watering cans planted with herbs, or terracotta herb planters in a range of sizes

Basket arrangements suitable for indoors may include Cyclamen, Primroses, Tete a Tete Daffodils and ivy.

Gift Vouchers

Ashbrook Nursery vouchers will give your friends and relations the opportunity to select plants of their choice from the nursery with one of the best ranges of varieties in Scotland. Our bedding, patio, alpine and herbaceous plants, grasses, herbs and vegetables are grown on the nursery, and many of our trees and shrubs are sourced from Scottish Nurseries. Ashbrook Nursery vouchers may be spent in a 'piecemeal' fashion throughout the season.

We now also sell and redeem National Garden Gift Vouchers - an ideal gift for those not fortunate enough to live within striking distance of Ashbrook Nursery!

Holly Wreaths

We have a wide variety of wreaths on display at Ashbrook (see photographs in our picture gallery), for both commemorative and decorative purposes. Some of the decorative rings are made with just Noble Fir or mixed conifer, but the majority are made with a mixture of conifer and holly - both green and variegated .For our 8" holly wreaths we use Cupressus whereas for the 10" wreaths we use the blue Noble Fir. We also have shaped wreaths - crosses or hearts and a range of bars.

Sample wreaths are on display during November, but all our holly wreaths for sale are made with fresh holly harvested in December.

Prices vary according to the size and type of wreath and the decorations used - plastic or silk flowers; paper, silk or woven ribbon; berries, cones, or 'Christmassy' decorations etc.

Price examples:-

8 inch holly wreath -undecorated £12, with ribbons(3) and standard flowers(3) £15, with cones (3) and berries (6) £16, with silk flowers or christmas picks and plain ribbon £7 or with fancy ribbon £19

10 inch holly wreath - undecorated £15, ribbons(3) and large flowers such as lilies (3) £18, cones(5) and berries(8) £20

10 inch fancy decorative wreath from £20 upwards depending upon the decorations used.

Posies

We also produce arrangements in oasis priced from £10.50 for a simple arangement with christmas roses, cones and berries to £15 for a more elaborate arrangement with silk flowers etc. These are popular for those wishing to place an arrangement at the Crematorium where space can be limited.

Table Centres and Festive Baskets etc.
